We
need to put an end to Cystic Fibrosis.
It seems we are closer than ever to a cure. Lung Transplant should not have to be the
last hope to survive a few more years with CF.
CF
needs to stand for Cure Found!
May
is National Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month
My
dear precious husband lived 58 years with CF; seven years post double lung
transplant. Given the opportunity to go through a lung transplant again, he would have done it to be able to live longer. He refused to allow CF to
define who he was. He refused to allow
CF to control his life or dictate his path in life. With God’s immeasurable Grace, Bill lived a
full and complete life in spite of having Cystic Fibrosis. In the end, CF still claimed his life through
lung transplant rejection.
Tremendous
strides have been made in developing new therapies and treatments that have
extended the lives of people with CF. It
isn’t enough. WE WANT A CURE! WE NEED A CURE NOW!
Those
who continue to live in spite of CF need the opportunity to live full
unencumbered lives; having the opportunity to reach out into the world and
achieve their dreams.
My
husband and I had over 40 years together.
In the world of Cystic Fibrosis this is a rare and special gift. I wanted more! I wanted him to live more life. I wanted him to live out ALL his dreams. The Lord had other plans for him.
Now
I ask you to step up to the plate and help make Bill’s dream come true for
someone else with CF. Help someone with
CF else reach old age without all the suffering; without the need for all the
therapies; without the need for all the pills; without the need for feeding
tubes; without the need for weeks and months of home IV antibiotics; without
the need for lung transplants! You can
make it happen!
Pray
about what the Lord would have you do this month. Learn more about Cystic Fibrosis and step up
to serve those who need help. Share what
you learn with others so that more people will know WE NEED A CURE!!!
Celebrate
the life of someone with CF during the month of May 2013. Give of your time, your prayers and your
money as the Lord leads.
Thank
you,
What a beautiful picture of you and your husband Bill! You look so happy together - it makes me sad. Wishing you peace.
